Nominating Committee Rosters, by district (pdf files)

Comments from Janis McMillen, LWVUS Board--

I did a quick check of numbers and here is the analysis:  In the 17 district Nominating Commissions, there are 66 male attorneys and 6 female attorneys (these are elected by their peers in each district). Of the non-lawyers (appointed by the County Commissioners in each district), there are 53 males and 19
females. The commissioners are doing a better job at gender diversity.

On Thursday, Jan. 28, Candy Birch is going to talk during the public comment period of the Johnson County Commission to explain our judicial diversity
project and discuss the importance of gender and ethnic diversity on the
Nominating Commission. Johnson County's nominating commission make up is 6
male and 1 female attorney and 3 male and 4 female non-attorney members.  —1/20/1010
